POPPY PLAYTIME - POP Games N° 1333 - Pianosaurus

POPPY PLAYTIME – Pianosaurus – POP! Games No. 1333

Meet Pianosaurus, the strange musical creature from Poppy Playtime, with this POP! Games No. 1333 figurine from Funko. Inspired by the character featured in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 4 – Safe Haven, this edition recreates its piano-dinosaur appearance in the distinctive style of POP! figures. Funko states that it stands approximately 10.2 cm tall.

Pianosaurus retains the elements that make its design instantly recognisable: a green dinosaur body, a long reptilian silhouette and a row of piano keys running beneath its body, from its mouth to its tail. Its head is adorned with three colourful protrusions – red, orange and yellow – whilst its small black eyes emphasise its deliberately bizarre appearance. In the official universe, Pianosaurus’s piano keys enable it to produce its melodies.

Origin and character lore

Pianosaurus, or Experiment 1163, was originally a hybrid toy combining a dinosaur and a piano, created by Playtime Co. In the company’s fictional toy range, it was part of a group of musicians and provided backing vocals using the keys built into its body. Its appearance subsequently served as the basis for a gigantic, living version created as part of the Bigger Bodies Initiative.

Experiment 1163 was created in 1990, but Dr Harley Sawyer regarded it as a failure and put it through testing. Pianosaurus subsequently appears in *Poppy Playtime: Chapter 4 – Safe Haven*, where the player encounters him in the depths of the factory. His appearance is brief but particularly memorable: after setting off in pursuit of the player, he is ultimately devoured by Doey the Doughman.
