Origin and background of the character
Espeon is a Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in the second generation in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver. It is one of the evolutions of the iconic Eevee, obtained when the latter develops a sincere friendship with its trainer and levels up during the day. Heavily inspired by the Japanese cat and the mythical bakeneko, Mentali is a graceful quadruped, sporting a delicate mauve coat and a red gem on its forehead that glows intensely when it uses its powerful telekinetic abilities. Its slender tail splits into two at the tip, allowing it to sense air currents to predict its opponents’ movements or changes in the weather. This Funko POP! version with a textured finish pays perfect homage to the grace of this legendary creature, establishing itself as a centrepiece for Evolutions collectors.
