POKEMON - POP Games N° 1269 - Armarouge

This Funko POP! Games figurine (No. 1269) depicts Carmadura, a Fire- and Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in the Paldea region. Adapted to the distinctive style of the POP! range, the character retains its imposing armour, dark helmet and the red and yellow colours that make it instantly recognisable.

Carmadura is depicted standing in a fighting stance, with its arms slightly outstretched. Its head is protected by a large black helmet with red trim, topped by an imposing red and yellow crest. Several yellow, flame-shaped elements adorn his face, whilst his small yellow eyes stand out against the dark surface of the helmet.

The rest of the figure features the Pokémon’s characteristic yellow and red armour. The rounded shoulder guards, red limbs and pointed elements around the helmet reinforce his appearance as an armoured warrior. The figurine stands approximately 12.4 cm tall, with Carmadura’s large crest contributing to its relatively imposing size for a POP! figurine.

Character background and lore

Carmadura is a ninth-generation Pokémon discovered in the Paldea region. It is a Fire/Psychic-type Pokémon and is known as the Fire Warrior Pokémon.

It is one of two possible evolutions of Charbambin. In Pokémon Scarlet, Charbambin can evolve into Carmadura when a Fortune’s Armour is used on it. This mysterious armour is imbued with wishes for good fortune and is the source of its heavily armoured warrior appearance.

According to the Pokédex, the armour worn by Carmadura once belonged to a particularly distinguished warrior. It is reinforced by the Pokémon’s psychic and fiery energies, enabling it, in particular, to concentrate its offensive power. Carmadura is also distinguished by its great loyalty.

Its appearance is strongly inspired by a knight or an armoured warrior. Its shoulder guards can, in particular, be used to form a powerful cannon, a feature highlighted by its Armoured Cannon ability. This combination of armour, psychic energy and firepower forms the Pokémon’s core identity.

Carmadura shares its evolutionary line with Malvalame. Whilst Carmadura is of the Fire and Psychic types and is associated with the Armour of Fortune, Malvalame is of the Fire and Ghost types and evolves using an Armour of Resentment.
