Origin and background of the character
Released in 1995, Disney’s animated masterpiece Pocahontas is loosely based on the story of the famous Native American woman and the colonisation of Virginia in the 17th century. Pocahontas is a noble, free-spirited young woman with a deep and mystical connection to the natural world around her, capable of communicating with the spirits of the earth, the wind and the animals. This special “30th Anniversary” edition captures a cult scene from the film in which the princess navigates the wild waters with agility in her traditional canoe, accompanied by her mischievous and greedy raccoon, Meeko. This dynamic and fresh piece celebrates the heroine’s communion with the elements and remains a must-have for all lovers of Disney classics.
