Origin and world of the character
The character of the female protagonist (commonly known as Kotone Shiomi by the community and official adaptations) made her first major appearance in the Japanese role-playing game Persona 3 Portable, published by Atlus. Introduced as an exclusive alternative to the original male protagonist, she offers an adventure rewritten through a much more extroverted, playful and bright personality. A schoolgirl joining the Gekkoukan Academy on the island of Iwatodai, her destiny changes when she discovers the existence of the "Dark Hour", a paranormal space of time hidden at midnight where monstrous Shadows attack humans. Equipped with the power of the Wild Card, she uses her pistol-shaped Evocator to materialise her soul facets (her Personas) in the image of Orpheus. As the alternative leader of the S.E.E.S. squad, she brings a unique emotional and social dynamic to this tragic struggle against fate.
