ONE PUNCH MAN - POP Animation N° 2531 - Saitama (Punching)

This Funko POP! Animation figure No. 2531 depicts Saitama in a fighting pose directly inspired by his speciality: the punch. From One-Punch Man, this ‘Saitama (Punching)’ version is a Retail Exclusive edition available in the classic POP! range format.

Saitama wears his instantly recognisable hero outfit, consisting of a yellow jumpsuit, red gloves and boots, and his white cape. The sculpture depicts him in an offensive stance, his body mid-punch. His bald head, thin eyebrows and deliberately understated facial expression capture both the character’s design and the characteristic proportions of POP! figures.

The choice of this pose encapsulates the concept of *One-Punch Man* particularly well: despite his extremely simple appearance, Saitama possesses such strength that he can defeat the majority of his opponents with a single punch. This variant thus stands out from more static depictions of the character by directly highlighting his iconic attack.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Saitama is the protagonist of One-Punch Man, a work created by ONE and adapted into a manga with artwork by Yusuke Murata. His deliberately ordinary appearance contrasts sharply with his power: after three years of intensive training, he has become so strong that he can defeat virtually any opponent with a single punch. The anime’s official website describes him as a man who attained invincible strength after three years of training and who works as a hero ‘for fun’.

Yet this absolute strength is his main source of frustration. Fights no longer really present a challenge, and Saitama is constantly on the lookout for an opponent capable of providing him with an interesting battle. This situation forms the basis for the distinctive tone of *One-Punch Man*, which combines spectacular action scenes, humour and a subversion of the traditional conventions of superhero storytelling.

Saitama eventually joins the Heroes’ Association officially, where his true abilities are initially greatly underestimated. The anime’s official ranking currently places him in Class B, 7th place, whilst his actual power far exceeds that suggested by his administrative standing.

Genos, a young cyborg impressed by his strength, quickly chooses Saitama as his mentor. Their relationship further highlights the series’ central contrast: Genos analyses every fight with the utmost seriousness, whilst Saitama maintains a detached and pragmatic attitude, even when facing enemies capable of threatening entire cities.

The POP! No. 2531 figure captures precisely the character’s most iconic feature. By depicting Saitama in the moment of striking, Funko transforms what appears to be his simplest attack into the figure’s central focus, reminding us that behind his minimalist costume lies one of the most powerful fighters in the One-Punch Man universe.
