Origin and world of the character (Lore)
In the world of piracy created by Eiichiro Oda, Boa Hancock is recognised as the most beautiful woman in the world. She is the ruler of the island of Amazon Lily, the captain of the Kuja Pirates crew and the only woman to have sat among the powerful Grand Corsairs (Shichibukai). Having eaten the Demon Fruit Mero Mero no Mi, she possesses the ability to petrify and turn to stone anyone who feels attraction or impure thoughts towards her. Despite her initially haughty, condescending and cold attitude due to a long history as a slave, she falls head over heels in love with Monkey D. Luffy, regularly putting her status and her kingdom at risk to protect the future King of the Pirates.
