Character’s origin and backstory (Lore)
In the One Piece universe, Mont Blanc Cricket is a resident of Jaya Island and the direct descendant of the legendary explorer Mont Blanc Norland, who was unjustly executed and went down in history as ‘Norland the Liar’. Weighed down by this family disgrace, Cricket has spent many years of his life diving tirelessly to the ocean floor in search of evidence of the sunken City of Gold and to clear his ancestor’s name. Having become the leader of the Saruyama Alliance alongside Masira and Shoujou, his encounter with Monkey D. Luffy is set to turn his destiny on its head. By helping the Straw Hat crew reach Skypiea, the heavenly island, he will hear the legendary golden bell of Shandora ring out – absolute proof that Norland had spoken the truth. This Ichibansho figurine celebrates all the emotion, perseverance and nobility of spirit of this iconic character from the Jaya arc.
