Origin and background of the character
Monkey D. Luffy is the central and legendary protagonist of the global epic One Piece, created by the genius mangaka Eiichiro Oda. Having inadvertently eaten the Rubber Fruit (Gomu Gomu no Mi), the young boy gains a fully stretchable body but loses the ability to swim forever. Guided by a promise made to his mentor, Red-Haired Shanks, he sets sail to assemble an elite crew and explore the Grand Line, with the ultimate goal of seizing the legendary treasure and becoming the Pirate King. Through sheer perseverance and titanic battles against the World Government, Luffy eventually rises to the rank of Emperor of the New World.
This 10 cm figurine brilliantly captures the refined aesthetic and boundless energy of the Straw Hat Captain. The sculpture ingeniously incorporates transparent parts to bring his attack effects and battle aura to life. His famous straw hat, the scar beneath his left eye and his iconic red outfit feature detailed painting. It is a must-have for any collector wishing to assemble the major figures in the range, particularly alongside the figures of Shanks, Buggy and Marshall D. Teach from the same collection.
