Origin and background of the character
Kuzan, better known by his former admiral code name ‘Aokiji’ (the Blue Pheasant), is one of the major figures in the monumental work One Piece, the legendary shōnen manga created by Eiichiro Oda in 1997. A high-ranking Navy officer who adheres to a very personal philosophical doctrine he calls “Lazy Justice”, he chose to leave the military after his ferocious duel against his colleague Akainu on Punk Hazard Island for the position of Supreme Commander. Having consumed the Hie Hie no Mi (Frost Fruit), an extremely powerful Logia-type Devil Fruit, he possesses the absolute ability to generate, manipulate and transform himself entirely into ice, to the point of being able to instantly freeze vast stretches of ocean or render his targets completely immobile. Now a maverick sailing the treacherous waters of the New World, his recent alliances have aroused the suspicion of the world’s major factions. Banpresto’s “Senkozekkei” collection aims to immortalise the fury of his magical techniques through a meticulously crafted sculpture that highlights his faithful features, his elegant cloak and the frosty effects characteristic of his attacks.
