Character background and lore
Inspired by the One Piece series and its expanded universe, Monkey D. Luffy is a pirate of mysterious origins who has spent much of his life at sea pursuing a single goal: to preserve the balance of the world and find his place amongst the four most powerful pirates in the multiverse. Captain of the Straw Hat Crew, he founded his own fleet and came of age amidst the greatest battles of the Grand Line, learning to harness his immense power and absolute mastery of Haki behind a carefree demeanour and strict moral values to protect his friends. It is aboard the Vogue Merry, his beloved ship gifted to him by Kaya, that he begins his precious journey and faces numerous external threats. This marks the start of a gruelling galactic odyssey, in which the big-hearted fighter uses his determination to navigate through geopolitical crises, becoming the elite pirate indispensable to halting destructive conflicts such as the wars of this world.
