Origin and background of the character
Izuku Midoriya (known by his hero name "Deku") is the central protagonist of the hit series My Hero Academia, the Shonen manga written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi. Born without any powers (“Quirkless”) in a world where 80% of the population possesses superhuman abilities, his unwavering determination and innate sense of sacrifice catch the attention of All Might, the legendary Hero No. 1. The latter chooses to make him his spiritual successor by passing on the precious transferable Quirk "One For All". Joining the prestigious Class 1-A at U.A. High School, Izuku must learn to channel this colossal power through his body to master devastating techniques such as the Delaware or the Detroit Smash. Banpresto’s “Special Colour” edition enhances this version of Deku with meticulous paintwork that accentuates the contours of his hero’s costume and the dynamism of his movement.
