Marin Kitagawa is one of the main protagonists of Sexy Cosplay Doll, known internationally as My Dress-Up Darling. A popular, spontaneous and particularly sociable schoolgirl, she is open about her passion for manga, anime, video games and, above all, cosplay. Her enthusiasm contrasts with the much more reserved personality of her classmate Wakana Gojo.

Marin really gets to know Gojo when she discovers his talent for sewing. Having learnt the techniques required to make traditional hina dolls since childhood, he possesses skills that are particularly useful for making clothes. Marin then asks him to help her create the costumes for the characters she wants to portray.

Their collaboration on cosplay marks the beginning of their growing closeness. As their projects progress, Gojo hones his creative techniques whilst Marin explores a wide variety of characters and styles. Their relationship also allows each of them to embrace their interests more freely, without fear of judgement from others.
