Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Set twenty years after the dramatic events of Matrix Revolutions, Matrix Resurrections (2021) takes viewers back to the side of Thomas A. Anderson. Leading a seemingly ordinary life in San Francisco, this video game designer is going through an existential crisis, soothed only by the blue pills prescribed to him by his therapist. Although Neo and Trinity cross paths without recognising each other in this new version of the simulation, fate eventually catches up with the Chosen One. Guided by a reinvented Morpheus who once again hands him the red pill, Neo prepares to awaken his mind, break his amnesia and join the resistance to confront a system that is more sophisticated and dangerous than ever.
