MILKY SUBWAY THE GALACTIC LIMITED EXPRESS - Makina - Model Kit 16.5cm

MILKY☆SUBWAY THE GALACTIC LIMITED EXPRESS – Makina – Model Kit 16.5 cm

Meet Makina from MILKY☆SUBWAY THE GALACTIC LIMITED EXPRESS with this articulated model kit developed by Kotobukiya. Once assembled, the figure stands approximately 16.5 cm tall and faithfully recreates the cyborg’s appearance from the series, complete with her jacket, shorts, twin ponytails and the mechanical features of her body. Kotobukiya has announced a Japanese release in April 2027.

The kit has been specially designed to recreate several scenes and distinctive features of Makina. It includes three pre-printed faces, plus a blank face for customisation. Decals also allow you to add further expressions as well as various markings found on her clothing.

Several accessories directly linked to the series are included: the control device key, a mugshot ID plate and a badge, each with a matching hand part where required. Interchangeable parts also allow you to recreate the mechanical movement of the arm and wrist, as well as Makina’s impressive head-opening mechanism. A completely blackened face is included for this latter configuration.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Makina Kurusu is one of the protagonists of MILKY☆SUBWAY THE GALACTIC LIMITED EXPRESS. She is a cyborg and the best friend of Chiharu Kujo, a genetically enhanced human. In the Japanese version of the series, Makina is voiced by Anna Nagase.

The story begins when Chiharu and Makina are arrested for breaching the space traffic regulations. Along with four other offenders — Akane, Kanata, Kurt and Max — they are sentenced to carry out community service involving cleaning an interplanetary train nicknamed the Milky☆Subway. What was supposed to be a relatively simple task goes awry when the train suddenly starts moving, dragging the group into a situation that quickly spirals out of their control.

Makina stands out in particular for her cybernetic nature, a feature that this model kit makes full use of. The mechanisms for opening her head and extending her arm, which Kotobukiya has recreated using interchangeable parts, are therefore not merely aesthetic additions: they directly reference the character’s physical characteristics in the series.

MILKY☆SUBWAY is the sequel to the 3D short film Milky☆Highway created by Yohei Kameyama. The 12-episode series is also largely driven by Kameyama, who is credited notably as creator, director, screenwriter and character designer, and was broadcast from 2025 onwards, with international availability on YouTube.
