Character background and lore

Tsukasa Akeuraji is one of the central characters in *Medalist*, a manga created by Tsurumaikada. A former skater who was forced to give up his own sporting ambitions, he meets Inori Yuitsuka, a young girl determined to enter the world of figure skating. This encounter profoundly changes the course of his life.

Moved by Inori’s passion and determination, Tsukasa decides to become her coach. He then puts his experience, technical understanding and sensitivity to work to help the young skater progress, whilst he himself grows into his new role as a coach.

The relationship between Tsukasa and Inori lies at the heart of *Medalist*. Both are driven by a shared goal: to enable Inori to progress in competitions and reach the highest possible level in figure skating.

Thanks to his background as a skater, his dedication to his pupil and his vital role in her progress, Tsukasa Akeuraji emerges as one of the emotional and narrative pillars of the series.
