Rediscover Neo, the Chosen One from *The Matrix*, with this 1/10-scale BDS Art Scale collectable figurine created by Iron Studios. Standing approximately 25 cm tall, it depicts the character played by Keanu Reeves in a spectacular action pose, two pistols in hand, amidst a setting ravaged by gunfire.
The sculpture captures Neo’s iconic appearance from the first film: a long black coat billowing in the movement, dark sunglasses, an all-black outfit and a firearm in each hand. The character appears to be leaping over a backdrop of shattered concrete, whilst bullet effects and shell casings add to the sense of movement. The composition directly evokes the famous lobby shootout during Morpheus’s rescue mission.
Crafted primarily from premium polystone, the statue features hand-applied paintwork. Iron Studios notes that certain elements may also utilise resin, PVC, metal or fabric, depending on the requirements of the sculpture. Its 1/10 scale and scenario-based base allow it to remain relatively compact whilst capturing the dynamic aesthetic of the action scenes from *The Matrix*.
In *The Matrix*, released in 1999, Thomas Anderson leads a double life: a computer programmer by day and a hacker going by the pseudonym Neo by night. Obsessed with the mysterious ‘Matrix’, he comes into contact with Trinity and then Morpheus, who offers to reveal the true nature of the world in which he lives.
By choosing the red pill, Neo discovers that the reality he knew is in fact a computer simulation controlled by the Machines. Freed from this system, he joins Morpheus, Trinity and their crew in their fight against the Matrix and against the Agents, programmes capable of manipulating the rules of this virtual environment. Morpheus is convinced that Neo is the One, an individual capable of transcending the limits imposed by the simulation.
The scene recreated by Iron Studios references one of the film’s most famous action sequences: Neo and Trinity break into a heavily guarded building to rescue Morpheus. The ensuing shootout transforms the lobby into a field of rubble, with shattered walls, crossfire and acrobatic manoeuvres. The statue faithfully captures this aesthetic, depicting Neo armed with two pistols against a backdrop riddled with bullet holes.
