MARVEL - Venom - Figural Bank

Marvel Piggy Bank — Venom

Entrust your savings to one of the most fearsome symbiotes in the Marvel universe with this decorative Venom money box, made by Monogram.

The character is depicted in a compact style with an oversized head. His large, white eyes with irregular outlines take up a large part of his black face, whilst his open mouth reveals several rows of sharp teeth. His long red tongue extends out to the side, reinforcing the character’s monstrous and instantly recognisable appearance.

Venom adopts a crouched stance, with his fists clenched in front of him and his feet planted firmly on the ground. The large white spider emblem extends across his chest, contrasting with the black finish of his body. The sculpture thus combines the expressive appearance of a figurine with the practical function of a piggy bank.

Its size makes it suitable for a shelf, a desk or a collection dedicated to Marvel characters. However, the supplier’s specifications do not state the exact height or the material from which the product is made.

Origin and character’s universe

Venom is born from the union between an alien symbiote and the journalist Eddie Brock. Prior to this encounter, the creature had been bonded to Peter Parker, from whom it retained certain abilities and the general appearance of the Spider-Man suit. After being rejected by Peter, it bonded with Eddie and shared his deep hostility towards the hero.

The symbiote grants its host superhuman strength and resilience, the ability to alter its appearance, to produce a web-like substance and to regenerate. Venom is, however, characterised by an unstable personality: though long a foe of Spider-Man, he also acts as a violent protector when he believes innocent people are under threat.

This piggy bank features his most iconic visual elements — his black body, his white spider symbol, his fanged jaws and his enormous tongue — in a stylised design that is both practical and decorative.
