Meet Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, with this articulated Marvel Legends Series action figure from Hasbro, inspired by Marvel Studios’ *Avengers: Doomsday*. Standing approximately 15 cm tall, it captures the appearance of the Fantastic Four member portrayed by Ebon Moss-Bachrach in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The figure recreates Ben Grimm’s massive silhouette, entirely covered in orange rock. Here, he wears the Fantastic Four’s blue and white suit, the lines of which contrast with the irregular texture of his mineral skin. The detailed sculpting of the rocky plates covers the head, torso, arms and legs to recreate the character’s appearance as seen in Avengers: Doomsday.
The Thing features full articulation in the head, arms and legs, allowing for dynamic combat poses despite his imposing stature. Three accessories are included: two interchangeable hands and a second bearded head. This alternative head allows you to recreate another look for Ben Grimm revealed in *Avengers: Doomsday* and significantly vary the figure’s display.
Presented in a window box featuring the film’s colour scheme, this figure joins the Marvel Legends Series collection dedicated to Avengers: Doomsday and can be displayed alongside the other members of the Fantastic Four, notably Mr Fantastic, the Invisible Woman and the Human Torch. Hasbro describes this version of Ben as being prepared to do whatever it takes to protect his family and the world from a threat greater than any he has ever faced.

Character background and universe (Lore)
Benjamin Jacob ‘Ben’ Grimm is one of the four founding members of the Fantastic Four. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, he first appeared in Fantastic Four No. 1 in 1961. In the comics, Ben accompanies his friend Reed Richards on an experimental space flight alongside Sue and Johnny Storm. The crew’s exposure to cosmic radiation transforms each of its members and permanently alters Ben’s appearance.
Whilst Reed gains an elastic body, Sue can become invisible and Johnny can burst into flames, Ben is transformed into a colossus with orange, mineral-like skin, endowed with superhuman strength, stamina and resilience. This transformation is much harder for him to accept than it is for his teammates, as it profoundly alters his appearance and deprives him, for a long time, of the chance to return to a normal life. Marvel has regularly made this inner conflict one of the fundamental elements of its stories.
Despite his frustrations and his sometimes explosive temper, The Thing remains one of the most loyal members of the Fantastic Four. His sense of humour, his courage and his famous cry of ‘It’s clobberin’ time!’ contrast with his intimidating appearance. More than just partners, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben function as a real family, and Ben is often the most down-to-earth member of the group.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ben Grimm is played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach and officially joins the MCU in *The Fantastic Four: First Steps*. This version of the Fantastic Four initially operates in a retro-futuristic universe inspired by the 1960s, before their story leads them towards the events of *Avengers: Doomsday*. Marvel Studios has confirmed that Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben will meet the Avengers and the X-Men, amongst others, in a plot involving worlds that literally collide.
This Marvel Legends figure captures precisely this new chapter in Ben Grimm’s story. Still instantly recognisable by his rocky skin and his Fantastic Four suit, The Thing is now preparing to defend his family and his world against a threat that Hasbro describes as greater than any he has faced before.
