Character background and lore
Inspired by the history and expanded universe of British football, Ian Rush is a legendary athlete who spent much of his sporting career pursuing a single goal: to find the back of the net and etch his name into the pantheon of Europe’s greatest strikers. Having become Liverpool’s all-time leading goalscorer, he made his mark on English pitches and came of age amidst the biggest clashes in the Premier League and European Cup, learning to hone his positioning and his absolute mastery of one-on-one situations, all whilst maintaining a humble attitude and strict team-first values to lead his team to victory. He is the one who breaks the deadlock in the most complex situations thanks to his innate goal-scoring instinct, never hesitating to give his all on the pitch to lift the most prestigious trophies. This marked the start of a gruelling sporting journey, in which this great competitor used his determination to guide the Reds through legendary matches, establishing himself as the indispensable star player needed to win derbies and send the Anfield crowd into raptures.
