Funko brings a whole new dimension to the fearsome Balrog of Moria with this POP! Super SFX No. 2160, inspired by The Lord of the Rings. Presented in a Super Sized format of approximately 15 cm, this figurine recreates the creature of fire and shadow in the signature style of the POP! range, with its large horns, dark body streaked with glowing patches, and the flames that envelop its silhouette.
This SFX / Lights Up edition features a built-in light-up effect. Several elements associated with the flames, as well as the Balrog’s eyes, light up, accentuating its fiery appearance and creating a display particularly suited to a showcase or shelf.
With its larger size compared to standard POP! figures, the Balrog has a more imposing presence that matches the character’s imposing scale. The figurine is made from PVC/vinyl and comes in an illustrated window box.

The Balrog encountered in Moria is known as Durin’s Bane. It belongs to the Balrogs of Morgoth, ancient and extremely powerful beings linked to the dark forces of the early ages of Middle-earth. Having remained hidden in the depths of Khazad-dûm, he was responsible for the ruin of the Dwarven kingdom and remained in the mines until the passage of the Fellowship of the Ring.
Whilst crossing Moria, the Fellowship is pursued as far as the Bridge of Khazad-dûm. Gandalf quickly realises that his companions cannot face such a creature and remains alone on the bridge to block its path. After their confrontation, Gandalf causes part of the bridge to collapse beneath the Balrog. The creature falls into the abyss but manages to seize Gandalf with its whip, dragging the wizard down with it.
This confrontation is one of the most memorable scenes in *The Fellowship of the Ring*. The POP! Super SFX No. 2160 version places particular emphasis on the Balrog’s fiery appearance thanks to its built-in lighting, capturing in figurine form the contrast between shadow and flame that characterises the creature in Moria.
