Origin and character’s universe
In the world of the stop-motion animated film*The Nightmare Before Christmas*, directed by Henry Selick and produced by Tim Burton, Jack Skellington is the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town. Although he is respected by all the monsters, witches and vampires in the town for his skills in organising the Festival of the Dead, this tall, elegant skeleton is deeply weary of the repetition of this annual celebration. His chance discovery of Christmas Town sparks an immediate fascination within him, prompting him to want to make this winter festival his own by crafting his own macabre gifts and toys with the help of the inhabitants of Halloween Town.
This Funko Pop! figure recreates the character’s clothing and accessories. Jack Skellington is depicted sporting his hairless white skull and his broad, fixed skeletal grin. He is dressed in his traditional black suit with thin vertical white stripes, characterised by his fitted tailcoat and his black bow tie sculpted in the shape of a bat with outstretched wings. The figurine stands in a stable pose, holding a closed decorative gift box between his skeletal fingers, illustrating his attempts to take charge of the Christmas preparations within the film franchise.
