Origin and universe of the character
Created by Naoya Matsumoto, the globally successful manga Kaiju No. 8 plunges readers into a contemporary Japan under relentless attack from giant monsters known as Kaijus. To counter this apocalypse, the Japan Defence Forces (JAKDF) deploy heavily armed elite troops. Kafka Hibino’s fate is turned upside down when a tiny parasitic creature invades his body, granting him the ability to transform at will into a super-powerful humanoid Kaiju. In this form, his strength, speed and endurance are beyond human comprehension, reaching a level of power so unprecedented that the military has officially designated him ‘Kaiju No. 8’. This Funko Pop! figurine perfectly captures the terrifying aesthetic of his black bony armour and his blue eyes glowing with occult energy, whilst its rare ‘Chase’ variant adds an exclusive version coveted by all fans of the show.
