Origin and character’s universe
Launched in 1996 by director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson, the Scream franchise completely revolutionised horror cinema by brilliantly reinventing the conventions of the slasher genre through a meta and satirical approach. At the heart of this cult franchise lies Ghostface, a terrifying persona adopted by various serial killers throughout the films to terrorise the town of Woodsboro. Concealed beneath a long, black hooded robe, the killer is characterised by his recurring use of the telephone to taunt his victims by asking them questions about classic horror films, before hunting them down armed with a hunting knife. Inspired by Edvard Munch’s famous painting *The Scream*, his white mask has instantly become one of the most popular, recognisable and timeless symbols of modern pop culture. This exclusive Funko keyring perfectly captures the chilling design of this cinematic monster to accompany you in your daily life.
