Funko Pop! Figure — Disney — Training Phil (Hercules No. 1668) 9cm
This figurine from Funko’s POP! Vinyl range features the hot-headed, passionate trainer of heroes before he made his name: Philoctetes, known as ‘Phil’.
The figure features the stylised features and proportions characteristic of Funko figures, with its signature oversized head. The design captures the satyr’s appearance in the midst of a training session, clad in his modest training outfit. The plastic sculpture pays meticulous attention to the character’s physical attributes, conveying his innocence, determination and the stocky build of a mythological creature. The paintwork faithfully reproduces the contrasting colours and the details of his textured beard to illustrate the psychology of this demanding mentor.
This officially licensed collectable figurine is aimed at fans of the Disney animated film, enthusiasts of this universe and Funko collectors. The item is supplied in its original display box, which is numbered and features artwork in the colours of the film.

Character background and lore
Inspired by the classic Disney animated feature film released in 1997, Philoctetes is an elderly, marginalised satyr who has spent his life pursuing a single goal: to train a hero whose greatness would be etched in the stars. Tormented by the failures of his former disciples and wounded in his pride, he lives in seclusion far from human society, refusing to return to service. His routine is turned upside down by the arrival of a young man with uncontrollable brute strength who is rejected by his peers. Although exasperated by the young man’s clumsiness, Phil recognises in him the potential needed to fulfil his prophecy. This marks the start of a gruelling journey of initiation, in which the master must mould the body and mind of the future demigod to help him fulfil his destiny in the face of the machinations of the realm of the dead.
