Background and universe of this anniversary edition (Lore)

Hatsune Miku is a virtual singer developed by Crypton Future Media. Thanks to the music, illustrations, videos and performances created around her image and voice, she has become one of the most recognisable icons of Japanese digital culture.

Her visual identity is characterised in particular by her long turquoise pigtails and her futuristic design, but one of the fundamental principles of Hatsune Miku is precisely her ability to be continually reinterpreted by different artists.

This creative freedom explains the existence of hundreds of versions of Miku: seasonal outfits, musical collaborations, fantasy worlds and original illustrations regularly give rise to new figurines.

This 10th Anniversary edition, however, has a special significance: contrary to what its name might suggest, it does not celebrate Hatsune Miku’s tenth anniversary.

Instead, it commemorates the 10th anniversary of FuRyu’s Noodle Stopper range. To mark the occasion, the manufacturer has organised a full-scale anniversary project featuring exhibitions, campaigns aimed at collectors, and a retrospective of the many figurines released over the past decade.

FuRyu describes the Noodle Stoppers as an original series of figurines designed to fit into everyday life: they can hold the lid of a cup noodle in place, but can also be placed on a desk, a shelf or various ledges. The Noodle Stopper Figure brand is, in fact, registered by FuRyu.

To mark this celebration, Hatsune Miku is featured in an illustration by Naoki Saito, transformed into a figurine that is full of energy and particularly festive.

This figurine thus represents the convergence of two worlds that have become particularly popular amongst collectors: the countless artistic interpretations of Hatsune Miku and the original Noodle Stoppers concept developed by FuRyu.
