HARRY POTTER - BLACK KNIGHT BOOKEND - WIZARD'S CHESS SET
Harry and his friends soon realise that some pieces can be rather impetuous and capable of playing astonishing tricks on their opponent during a game of chess. An exact replica of the piece from the wizards’ chess set: the black knight, in bookend form. It is on this very piece that Ron mounts to do battle across the board with the help of his friends, Harry and Hermione. A shrewd strategist, he manages to checkmate his opponent, though not without sustaining a few injuries, making this functional item a first-rate choice for holding your books in style.

Origin and character background
Directly inspired by the final showdown in the film Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001), this desk ornament faithfully reproduces one of the centrepieces ofthe Giant Chessboard. To reach the Philosopher’s Stone hidden deep within the Hogwarts dungeons, the trio must play a life-size game of magical chess according to Professor McGonagall’s ruthless rules. This is the heroic moment when Ron Weasley takes command of the game, choosing to ride this Black Knight to guide his allies. To clear the way for Harry, Ron bravely sacrifices himself by allowing the opposing White Queen to destroy his mount.
This premium bookend, crafted by The Noble Collection, captures all the intensity of this cinematic moment. Depicted as a proud medieval warrior in armour riding a suit-armoured steed, the Black Rider features a patinated obsidian finish, enhanced by exquisite gold detailing on the mane, the joints of the armour and the harness. Weighing 1.70 kg and standing 20.5 cm tall, this bookend provides perfect support for your books whilst adding a touch of gothic magic to your bookshelf.
