HARRY POTTER - Spells & Charms - A5 Spinner Notebook

This officially licensed Harry Potter A5 Pyramid International notebook draws direct inspiration from the spells and enchantments of the Wizarding World. Its black and gold hardback cover resembles an ancient spellbook and features a ‘Spinner’ in the centre of the design. With its lined pages and compact size, it is designed for everyday note-taking as well as for use as a diary or themed notebook.

The cover is centred around a magic wand surrounded by a circular pattern of stars and gold symbols. On either side are several spells from the Harry Potter universe, including Expelliarmus, Lumos, Alohomora, Stupefy, Aguamenti, Reparo, Revelio and Incendio. The rotating mechanism built into the cover adds an extra interactive element and sets this model apart from a standard A5 notebook.

Origin and lore

Spells and enchantments play a central role in the study of magic at Hogwarts. Pupils must master both the correct pronunciation of incantations and the wand movements required to produce the desired effect. Charms is even a compulsory subject right up to the O.W.L. exams and, during Harry Potter’s time at school, is taught by Professor Filius Flitwick.

Charms enable the properties or behaviour of an object to be altered without fundamentally changing its nature. Among the best-known examples are ‘Lumos’, which produces light at the tip of the wand; ‘Wingardium Leviosa’, which makes an object levitate; and ‘Accio’, used to draw an object towards the wizard.

Several spells depicted on the cover also have a clearly identifiable function within the series. Expelliarmus is the famous disarming spell closely associated with Harry, whilst Stupefy is used to stun a target. Alohomora is used to unlock certain doors and Lumos transforms the wand into a source of light.

By bringing together various spells on its cover, arranged around a wand and a golden circular motif, this notebook echoes the aesthetic of a textbook or a magical reference guide that a Hogwarts pupil might use. The spinner further reinforces this idea by transforming the cover into an interactive element dedicated to practising spells.
