Origin and character background
Rufus Scrimgeour is the former Head of the Auror Office. This career wizard became Minister for Magic, succeeding Cornelius Fudge, immediately after the official announcement of Lord Voldemort’s return in 1996. Although he is particularly determined to destroy the threat posed by dark wizards, he unfortunately makes mistakes similar to those of his predecessor by seeking above all to create a false sense of security to reassure the wizarding community, at the expense of concrete efforts on the ground.
