Origin and background of the franchise (Lore)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second instalment in the adventures of Harry Potter at Hogwarts. During his second year at the school of witchcraft and wizardry, several pupils are mysteriously found petrified, whilst an inscription announces the reopening of the legendary Chamber of Secrets. Harry, Ron and Hermione then set out to discover the identity of the Heir of Slytherin and the creature lurking in the depths of the castle.
The investigation leads Harry to Tom Riddle’s diary and reveals the link between the Chamber, Salazar Slytherin and a gigantic Basilisk. This instalment also explores key elements of Voldemort’s backstory and Hogwarts’ past. Ravenclaw, the house depicted on the notebook, is traditionally associated with intelligence, curiosity and the pursuit of knowledge.
