See Goldorak in the midst of a spectacular aerial battle with this ‘Battle in the Skies’ figurine, measuring approximately 14 cm. This piece is part of the Scene Selection collection developed by Plex, a Bandai Namco Group company, in collaboration with Easy Hobby. The concept behind this range is to transform memorable scenes from the animated series into miniature three-dimensional dioramas designed for display.
The display depicts Goldorak in mid-flight, breaking free from his Spazer in the midst of battle. The robot is propelled forwards whilst a striking translucent orange explosion effect emphasises its separation from the craft. In the background, an enemy flying saucer traces a flight path depicted by a long, colourful trail, reinforcing the impression of speed and movement.

Character background and universe (Lore)
Goldorak, known as Grendizer in the Japanese version, is the powerful robot piloted by Actarus, originally known as Duke Fleed. Prince of the planet Fleed, he is forced to flee his homeworld following its invasion by the forces of Vega. He finds refuge on Earth and adopts a new identity before his enemies in turn threaten his new home planet.
To fight the Vega army, Actarus uses Goldorak, a giant alien robot equipped with a vast arsenal. During his aerial and space travels, Goldorak can be coupled with the Spazer, a carrier saucer that enables him to reach combat zones quickly before separating from it to engage his opponents directly.
The aerial clashes between Goldorak, his Spazer and Vega’s various flying saucers or Golgoths form an essential part of the series’ visual identity. The ‘Battle in the Skies’ composition capitalises precisely on this aspect by depicting the robot in the very moment of separation from his craft, amidst explosions, clouds and an enemy manoeuvring through the sky.
First broadcast in Japan in 1975, UFO Robot Grendizer became particularly iconic in France and several other European countries under the name Goldorak. The series forms part of the super-robot universe inspired by Go Nagai’s creations and remains one of the titles most closely associated with the massive influx of Japanese animation onto French-speaking television.
