GOONIES - POP Movies N° 2164 - Chunk

THE GOONIES – Chunk – POP! Movies No. 2164

Meet Lawrence ‘Chunk’ Cohen, one of the most memorable members of the Goonies, with this POP! Movies No. 2164 figurine from Funko. This edition is directly inspired by the scene in which Chunk is tied to a chair by the Fratellis, before his fateful encounter with Sloth. The figurine measures approximately 9.4 cm and is part of the new POP! series dedicated to the cult film The Goonies.

Chunk is depicted sitting in his chair, held in place by a black rope around his torso, with a worried expression that perfectly captures the scene. His outfit features his red jacket, black floral-patterned shirt, striped trousers and blue, white and red trainers. Funko has thus brought to life an instantly recognisable sequence from the film in the distinctive style and proportions of the POP! range.

Character background and lore

Lawrence ‘Chunk’ Cohen is part of the group of friends who set out in search of One-Eyed Willy’s treasure to help save the houses in their neighbourhood. Chatty, a food lover and known for his often exaggerated stories, he provides much of the film’s humour, whilst proving himself brave when the situation becomes genuinely dangerous. Funko counts him amongst the main members of the Goonies alongside Mikey, Mouth, Data and Sloth.

During the adventure, Chunk is captured by the Fratellis, then tied to a chair and left in a room with Sloth. After an initial reaction of fear, he offers Sloth a Baby Ruth bar, a gesture that marks the beginning of their friendship. Sloth eventually breaks free from his chains, and the two characters then rejoin the rest of the Goonies. POP! No. 2164 captures this exact moment in the film, depicting Chunk still bound to his chair.
