Origin and world of the character (Lore)
The world of the sitcom Friends, created in 1994, is full of cult moments and hilarious situations portrayed by its six protagonists. This design is directly inspired by episode 20 of season 4, 'The Onewith All the Wedding Dresses'. In this episode, Monica Geller is tasked with recovering the wedding dress of her soon-to-be ex-sister-in-law, Emily, but gives in to the temptation to try it on. Overcome by an unexpected sense of well-being, she refuses to leave it, even going so far as to wash the dishes and do her chores in it. This absurd situation soon leads Phoebe and then Rachel to rent or bring out their own white dresses, creating an image of friendly complicity that has become legendary.
