HISTORY AND BACKGROUND OF THE CHARACTER
Born in 1960 and died in 2020, Diego Armando Maradona was an Argentine international footballer, regarded as one of the greatest athletes in the history of the sport. This specific edition, entitled "Life is Life", refers directly to an iconic moment in his career that took place on 19 April 1989, during the warm-up for the UEFA Cup semi-final between SSC Napoli and Bayern Munich. To the beat of the song"Life is Life"by the Austrian band Opus, played in the Munich stadium, Maradona performed a rhythmic and relaxed juggling routine, his laces undone, a moment that has gone down in the annals of sporting pop culture. The figurine depicts him in this warm-up kit, featuring the colours of the Neapolitan club.
