Origin and character lore

Stitch, also known as Experiment 626, is an alien creature created by the scientist Jumba Jookiba. In the 2002 film Lilo & Stitch, he escapes and ends up on Earth, in Hawaii, where he meets Lilo Pelekai. Through their relationship, he gradually discovers friendship, loyalty and, above all, the concept of ‘ohana’, which means that no one is left behind.

Angel, or Experiment 624, later appears in *Lilo & Stitch: The Series*. Like Stitch, she is one of Jumba’s genetic experiments. She possesses a special ability: her mermaid song can cause experiments that have already been rehabilitated to revert to their destructive behaviour, whilst playing the song backwards cancels this effect. Disney also states that Stitch is immune to this ability.

Angel quickly develops a special bond with Stitch, and the pair have since become a prominent feature in Disney merchandise. This shopping bag highlights this bond through a tender and humorous illustration featuring Experiments 624 and 626 together.
