Origin and background of the character
The term ‘Luau’ refers to a traditional Hawaiian celebration characterised by a large banquet, music and local dances such as the hula. In Disney’s 2002 masterpiece Lilo & Stitch, Stitch (Genetic Experiment 626) learns to channel his initially destructive nature through the local customs taught to him by his new family. To fully embrace the spirit of ‘Ohana’ and the life of his adopted community, the alien has no qualms about donning traditional attire to join in the island’s festivities. This figurine embodies this touching process of transformation, making this adorable experiment an indispensable member that will take pride of place in your Disney collection.
