The Dover Demon is the main figure, standing approximately 10.2 cm tall. He is accompanied by Chiquitita in the form of a small Buddy figure measuring approximately 3.8 cm. Origin and character lore
The Dover Demon is an alien from Dandadan, also known as a Mantisian. His appearance and physical abilities are inspired by the mantis shrimp, a crustacean renowned for the extreme power of its strikes.
He is particularly distinguished by his large, round eyes and his imposing red boxing gloves. His main combat ability lies in his particularly destructive punches, capable of generating considerable force.
When he first appears in the story, the Dover Demon works as a fighter for the Serpoians. His motivations, however, are not driven by a desire for conquest: above all, he seeks to obtain the resources needed to help his son, Chiquitita.
Chiquitita suffers from a condition that requires him to receive fresh blood on a regular basis. The Dover Demon therefore takes on dangerous missions to provide for his son, which gives the character a far more personal motivation than that of the Serpoians.
Following his confrontation with Momo, Okarun and their allies, the situation changes. Seiko and the group find a way to help Chiquitita by providing them with a cow, whose milk can replace the blood his body requires.
The Dover Demon then gradually ceases to be an adversary and becomes an ally of the group. He settles on Earth with Chiquitita and remains on hand whenever Momo, Okarun and their companions have to face new supernatural or extraterrestrial threats.
This POP! & Buddy No. 2630 thus highlights the relationship that defines the character beyond his abilities as a fighter: that of a father willing to do anything to protect and care for his son.
