Based on *Bocchi the Rock!*, this Banpresto figurine depicts Bocchi-chan – the nickname of Hitori Gotoh – as part of the Sweets Collection – Version A. Measuring approximately 10 cm, this interpretation deliberately departs from the character’s usual proportions to reflect one of the humorous, stylised depictions associated with Bocchi in the series.
The design transforms Bocchi into a rounded, ‘melted’ pink shape, recognisable by her pink hair, her blue and yellow accessories, and her minimalist expression. The character rests on a chocolate cake decorated with strawberries and green leaves, the front of which bears the stylised inscription ‘Bocchi the Rock!’. The whole is set on a black plinth reminiscent of a pastry display tray.
With its compact size and concept blending figurine and dessert, this Sweets Collection version offers a deliberately offbeat portrayal of the heroine. It can be displayed on its own or alongside Version B from the same collection, also announced by Banpresto.
Hitori Gotoh, usually known as Bocchi, is the protagonist of Bocchi the Rock!. Very shy and introverted, she starts learning the guitar in the hope that music will enable her to join a band and make it easier for her to form relationships with others. Despite her considerable technical ability, playing and communicating in front of other people remains a real challenge for her.
She eventually joins the Kessoku Band, becoming their lead guitarist. The series follows both the band’s development and Bocchi’s efforts to gradually overcome her social difficulties. Her anxious nature regularly gives rise to highly exaggerated visual sequences in which her appearance becomes completely distorted – a comic device that is directly echoed by the unusual design used for this Sweets Collection figurine.
