Origin and backstory (Lore)

Avengers: Doomsday is a Marvel Studios film directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. It continues the Marvel Cinematic Universe by bringing together heroes from several universes to face a threat of unprecedented scale.

Doctor Doom, also known as Victor von Doom, plays a central role in the visual identity of the film and this desk mat. A major character in Marvel comics, he is traditionally associated with the Fantastic Four and rules over the fictional nation of Latveria.

Doom is distinguished as much by his exceptional scientific intellect as by his mastery of the mystical arts. Protected by imposing metallic armour and recognisable by his green cape, he has been one of the Marvel Universe’s most formidable adversaries for decades.

*Avengers: Doomsday* brings together characters linked to the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. The design of this rug captures this collective aspect precisely by incorporating several heroes into the Avengers logo whilst giving Doctor Doom a prominent place.
