Meet Cyclops (Scott Summers), one of the founding members and long-standing leaders of the X-Men, with this Funko Marvel POP! figure No. 1641, inspired by *Avengers: Doomsday*. Standing approximately 11.2 cm tall, this version depicts the mutant ready for battle in a blue and yellow outfit that directly echoes the team’s iconic colours. Funko officially describes this version as a ‘battle-ready’ Cyclops.
Cyclops wears a dark blue and yellow suit, complete with yellow boots, gloves and a belt, as well as the X-Men emblem on his chest. His most distinctive feature is, of course, his imposing ruby quartz visor, depicted here with a red optical beam shooting out from one side. This detail gives the figure a more dynamic feel than a traditional POP! pose.
His posture reinforces this sense of combat: Cyclops has one fist clenched whilst his other hand is raised in front of him. His brown hair is visible above the visor, completing a look that strongly evokes the character’s classic design. The figurine is presented in the Funko display box, numbered 1641, suitable for display with or without the packaging.
Scott Summers, alias Cyclops, is one of the founding members of the X-Men. During his childhood, the aeroplane carrying his family was attacked by a Shi’ar spacecraft. Scott and his brother Alex Summers were ejected using the only available parachute, but Scott sustained a serious head injury upon landing. This injury would subsequently prevent him from naturally controlling his mutant power. l
His power manifests as powerful bursts of optical energy emitted from his eyes. To control them, Scott uses ruby quartz lenses, and later a specially designed visor that allows him to adjust the aperture and intensity of his blasts. His mastery of these blasts is complemented by a remarkable sense of geometry: he is able to calculate the trajectories required to make his blasts ricochet off multiple surfaces and reach a target indirectly.
Spotted by Charles Xavier, Scott became the first member to be recruited to the X-Men. Over the years, he established himself as one of their key field leaders thanks to his strategic skills, discipline and sense of responsibility. His relationship with Jean Grey, his sometimes tense rivalry with Wolverine and his commitment to protecting mutants also play a central role in his story.
