AC/DC is an Australian rock band formed in the 1970s, centred around the brothers Angus and Malcolm Young. The name ‘High Voltage’ holds a special place in the band’s history: a debut album of that title was released in Australia in 1975, before a separate international version of *High Voltage* was released in 1976. AC/DC’s official website confirms the original Australian release in 1975 and lists the 1976 international edition separately.
The international edition of *High Voltage* comprises nine tracks, including ‘It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ’N’ Roll)’, ‘The Jack’, ‘Live Wire’, ‘T.N.T.’ and ‘High Voltage’. It mainly comprises tracks from the band’s first two Australian albums, *High Voltage* and *T.N.T.*, and is AC/DC’s first album to be widely distributed on the international market.
This Aquarius magnet thus takes up the ‘High Voltage’ theme, directly associated with AC/DC’s early years and the Bon Scott era, when the band began to establish its distinctive blend of hard rock, straight-forward riffs and stage energy on the international scene.
