Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Inspired by George R.R. Martin's famous literary chronicles The Chronicles of the Knight Errant, the prequel series takes place around a century before the events of Game of Thrones. It follows the wanderings of the great knight errant Ser Duncan the Great (Dunk) and his young squire the Egg. Tanselle, nicknamed 'Tanselle Too Tall' because of her imposing size, is a talented puppeteer of Dornish origin who makes her living staging traditional puppet shows at the tournaments of the nobility, notably the famous Tournament of Cendregué. Her chance encounter with Dunk has a profound effect on the young knight and serves as the catalyst for a series of events that will shake the fragile peace of the Seven Crowns under the reign of the Targaryen dynasty.
