Discover the CD-AS-01EX Guardian – Sentinels of Azure Dragon, a 21 cm mechanical model kit designed by Zen of Collectible. This EX / Deluxe Edition stands out thanks to the combination of ABS and POM parts with an articulated die-cast alloy chassis, lending greater weight and rigidity to the structure once the model is assembled. The kit features a mechanical warrior aesthetic inspired by traditional Chinese motifs, with predominantly green armour complemented by white and gold detailing.
The Guardian has a heavily armoured silhouette, with broad shoulder pads, numerous overlapping armour plates and ornamentation that combines mechanical elements with references to dragon imagery. Its articulated design allows for a variety of dynamic poses once assembled, whilst its arsenal includes, notably, a long polearm and a shield. Transparent parts complement certain weapons and visual effects.
This edition includes a movable alloy chassis already integrated into the internal structure, 25 sprue frames for the main body, one transparent sprue frame, four sprue frames for the base, ten PVC hands and two PVC hair pieces. Two sheets of water-slide decals are also included to add markings and additional details after assembly.
The model also features a magnetically activated LED unit. This requires a CR927 battery, sold separately. Once assembled, the Guardian stands approximately 21 cm tall and can be displayed on its included base. The product is supplied as a kit to be assembled, and the promotional images show an assembled and painted model for illustrative purposes.

Origin and background of the model
The CD-AS-01EX Guardian is not based on any specific manga, anime or video game: it is part of a range of original mechanical creations by Zen of Collectible. Its international name, ‘Sentinels of Azure Dragon’, and its design are inspired by the Qinglong, or Azure Dragon, a figure from Chinese tradition.
In traditional Chinese cosmology, the Azure Dragon is one of the Four Symbols, alongside the White Tiger, the Vermilion Bird and the Black Tortoise. It is associated with the East and with spring. This iconography explains the Guardian’s predominant green and blue-green colour scheme, as well as the dragon motifs incorporated into its armour and weaponry.
Zen of Collectible transposes this symbolism into a mecha universe: the model combines the silhouette of a traditional warrior, golden ornaments and martial arts-inspired weapons with a modern, articulated mechanical construction. The result lies halfway between a mythological figure, ceremonial armour and a science-fiction robot, without imposing any specific narrative continuity on the collector.
