Complete your X-Men ’97 collection with Psylocke, depicted here as a Marvel POP! figure No. 1612 designed by Funko. This version showcases the formidable mutant fighter in an offensive stance, armed with her katana and ready to use her psychic powers.
The figure captures her iconic look with her long purple hair, blue jumpsuit and matching bands around her arms and legs. A red belt tied at the waist adds a contrasting touch, whilst her high boots and firmly planted stance emphasise her agile and precise fighting style.
Psylocke holds a katana with both hands, the blade pointing horizontally in front of her. A translucent pink psychic energy effect also surrounds one of her fists, illustrating her ability to channel her powers into an offensive form. The combination of the physical weapon and this telepathic manifestation effectively captures both facets of her approach to combat.
Crafted from vinyl, the figure stands approximately 9.9 cm tall. It features a spring-loaded head, in keeping with the Bobble Head format of Marvel figures, and is presented in an illustrated window box bearing the X-Men ’97 logo and the number 1612.
Psylocke is a mutant fighter associated with the X-Men, renowned for her telepathic powers and her mastery of martial arts. In particular, she can read or influence minds and concentrate her psychic energy to create weapons, including a famous mental blade used in close combat.
Psylocke’s publishing history is particularly complex. The name was long held by Betsy Braddock, before she reclaimed her own identity and became Captain Britain. Kwannon, whose fate had been linked to Betsy’s through a swap of bodies and identities, subsequently took on the name Psylocke and made it her own.
Whichever incarnation she takes, Psylocke is distinguished by her combination of ninja techniques, bladed weapons and particularly powerful psychic abilities. The katana and the psychic effect depicted on this POP! figure encapsulate this dual speciality and her status as a fighter who is as dangerous physically as she is mentally.
