Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Created by Roy Thomas, Len Wein and John Romita Sr. in 1974 for Marvel Comics, Wolverine is a mutant with hyper-developed senses, an indestructible adamantium-covered skeleton and an accelerated healing factor. The "Wasteland" version is part of the story arcs of the X-Men '97 animated series, which follows on from the cult series of the 1990s. It depicts a situation where the members of the team find themselves separated and scattered across different time periods and geographical dimensions following major battles. This version captures the hero's hardened, survivalist aspect in the face of a hostile, devastated future.
