Meet Weapon H, the experiment born of the Weapon X programme that combines the characteristics of the Hulk and Wolverine, with this POP! Super No. 1658 figure produced by Funko. Thanks to the Super format, this version stands approximately 14.5 cm tall, compared to around 10 cm for a standard POP! figure, to better capture the character’s massive build.
The figure captures Weapon H’s particularly imposing appearance: a massive physique inspired by the Hulk, grey skin, metal claws and numerous spikes reminiscent of adamantium. The silhouette thus immediately brings together the two influences behind the character: the power of a being exposed to gamma rays and the organic weaponry characteristic of Wolverine. At the same time, the bobblehead format retains the stylised proportions specific to the POP! range.

Weapon H, whose real name is Clayton ‘Clay’ Cortez, is the result of one of the most dangerous experiments in the Weapon X programme. Before his transformation, Clay was a mercenary who turned against his own men when they carried out orders he deemed inhumane. He is then handed over to a new incarnation of Weapon X led by William Stryker and used as a test subject.
The programme’s scientists sought to create a fighter combining several of the most formidable characteristics from the Marvel Universe. In particular, Clay was given DNA linked to the Hulk, an adamantium-reinforced skeleton and adamantium claws. Marvel also states that the programme utilised various genetic materials, including samples from Amadeus Cho. The result is Weapon H, a hybrid endowed with considerable strength, extraordinary resilience and a powerful healing factor.
Weapon H eventually, however, escaped from the Weapon X programme and destroyed his creators. Rather than accepting the role of a weapon for which he was designed, Clay then sought to distance himself from the world and protect his family. This desire to retain his humanity despite his transformation is one of the main themes of his solo series *Weapon H*, launched in March 2018 by writer Greg Pak and artists Cory Smith and Marcus To.
His immense power quickly attracts the attention of other players in the Marvel Universe, notably Roxxon, whilst he finds himself facing various threats such as the Wendigos, Man-Thing and even Captain America. Marvel summarises the character’s concept as a combination of the Hulk’s strength with Wolverine’s fury and claws, whilst gradually developing Clay as a character who seeks to master this power rather than become the weapon that Weapon X sought to create.
The POP! Super No. 1658 directly embodies this visual concept: a massive, Hulk-like body combined with Wolverine’s claws and adamantium, in an enlarged format particularly suited to Weapon H’s stature.
