This Hasbro Transformers Studio Series 86-15 Leader Class figure depicts Dinobot Sludge as he appeared in the 1986 animated film *The Transformers: The Movie*. Standing approximately 21.5 cm tall in robot mode, it features the characteristic colours and proportions of the mighty Dinobot whilst offering a full transformation into a mechanical brontosaurus. The transition between the two modes involves 31 steps.

In robot mode, Sludge is depicted in his signature Generation 1 colour scheme, combining metallic grey, red, black and gold detailing. His massive build, broad shoulders and the various dinosaur elements integrated into his body visually convey the character’s physical power. The figure features numerous joints, allowing for a variety of poses and enabling you to recreate different poses inspired by the feature film.

Once transformed, Sludge takes on his brontosaurus mode, with his long neck, imposing build and massive tail. Character background and universe (Lore)

Sludge is one of the Dinobots from the Transformers Generation 1 universe. He belongs to this Autobot unit comprising powerful fighters capable of taking on forms inspired by dinosaurs. His alternate mode is that of a brontosaurus, and Hasbro officially designates him as a demolition specialist. His main strength lies in his considerable physical power: his stomps are notably capable of destroying concrete structures.

Hasbro describes Sludge as a Dinobot who does not particularly stand out for his intelligence, but whose power and stamina make him extremely difficult to stop in combat. His personality and fighting style therefore rely mainly on brute force, in contrast to faster or more strategic fighters.

In *The Transformers: The Movie*, Sludge fights alongside Grimlock and the other Dinobots. One of his most memorable moments takes place on Quintessa. When Hot Rod and Kup are brought before the Quintessons’ court, the Dinobots arrive to rescue them and Sludge immediately destroys the entrance to the court, bringing the proceedings to a halt. Hasbro specifically chose this sequence, known as ‘Mockery of Justice’, as the setting for this Studio Series figure.
