This Hasbro Transformers Timelines Comic Edition set brings together Optimus Prime and Starscream in versions inspired by the Transformers: Hearts of Steel comic mini-series. This alternate reality transports the famous Cybertronians to the late 19th century and reimagines their alternate modes through a mechanical aesthetic directly inspired by the Age of Steam.

Optimus Prime measures approximately 14 cm and can be transformed from robot mode into a steam locomotive in 19 steps. Starscream, meanwhile, measures approximately 12.5 cm and converts into a steam-powered flying machine in 18 steps. Character background and universe (Lore)

Transformers: Hearts of Steel explores an alternate reality in which the Transformers come into contact with humanity in the late 19th century rather than in the modern era. To adapt to the technologies available during this period, the Cybertronians adopt mechanical forms inspired by locomotives, steam engines and early experimental machines.

Optimus Prime remains the leader of the Autobots in this timeline. His alternate form abandons the traditional truck for an imposing steam locomotive, whilst retaining his role as protector and leader of the Autobots.

Starscream, meanwhile, retains his status as an ambitious and dangerous Decepticon. In keeping with the era depicted in *Hearts of Steel*, his aerial mode takes the form of a remarkable steam-powered flying machine rather than a modern jet aircraft.
