Discover a spectacular collector’s item from TOYSEASY with this transformable figure inspired by the Chinese aircraft carrier Shandong. The model can transform from a detailed replica of the ship into an imposing humanoid mecha named Fuxi. In robot mode, the figure stands approximately 32 cm tall, whilst in aircraft carrier mode it measures nearly 53 cm in length.
The naval mode incorporates the Shandong’s key visual features, notably its sloping flight deck, its side island and the hull number 17. The transformation utilises various parts of the hull and deck to form the robot’s limbs and armour. Once transformed into Fuxi, the model retains many elements from the original vessel, giving the mecha a massive silhouette with an aesthetic directly inspired by naval military architecture.
The figure features several points of articulation, allowing for a variety of poses in humanoid mode. It comes with a particularly extensive set of miniatures and accessories: fighter aircraft with wings extended or folded, an aerial reconnaissance aircraft, a helicopter with different rotor configurations, and a small submarine with a missile and smoke effect. Origin and background of the model (Lore)
This TOYSEASY creation is inspired by the Shandong, an aircraft carrier with hull number 17. Officially commissioned on 17 December 2019, it is described as the first aircraft carrier designed and built in China. Its name refers to the Chinese province of Shandong.
TOYSEASY has transformed this real-life naval inspiration into a fictional mecha named Fuxi. The design retains the aircraft carrier’s visual identity whilst reworking its hull, deck and structures into different parts of the robot. The presence of numerous aeroplanes, a helicopter and a submarine also helps to retain the detail of a naval model when the piece is displayed in its ship form.
The name Fuxi, meanwhile, refers to a major figure in Chinese mythology. TOYSEASY has incorporated it into its range of transformable ships by combining contemporary military technology with mecha imagery, making the Shandong a model designed as much for collectors of transformable robots as for enthusiasts of naval models.
