Meet Yui Kotegawa, one of the must-have heroines from To LOVE-Ru Darkness, with this figurine from FuRyu’s Trio-Try-iT range.
Measuring approximately 20 cm, this figurine depicts a summery, laid-back version of Yui, contrasting with the strict image she usually projects at Sainan High School. Her long black hair, reserved expression and instantly recognisable appearance perfectly capture the character’s personality.
The Trio-Try-iT range is an original collection from FuRyu built around three key principles: quality, size and sculpting. The manufacturer prioritises expressive poses and carefully crafted compositions to highlight each character’s distinctive features.

Yui Kotegawa is a pupil at Sainan High School and one of the recurring heroines in the To LOVE-Ru universe. She is best known for her extremely serious nature and her role on the school’s disciplinary committee. Good Smile Company officially presents her as the head of the disciplinary committee who detests indecent behaviour.
Yui attaches great importance to rules, good manners and maintaining order. She finds embarrassing situations and behaviour she deems inappropriate particularly hard to bear, which regularly brings her into conflict with the chaos surrounding Rito Yuuki and his friends.
The situation is all the more complicated as Rito constantly finds himself involved, often against his will, in mishaps and misunderstandings. For Yui, who strives to maintain impeccable conduct within the school, his presence quickly becomes a constant source of exasperation.
Behind this stern demeanour, however, lies a much more sensitive personality. As the story unfolds, Yui gradually develops feelings for Rito, although her proud and reserved nature makes it particularly difficult for her to acknowledge them openly.
This contradiction is one of the character’s main sources of comic relief: Yui constantly seeks to condemn behaviour she considers indecent, whilst finding herself embarrassed by her own feelings and by the unpredictable situations surrounding Rito.
She is also very fond of cats, a softer side that contrasts with her image as the strict head of the disciplinary committee. Several moments in the series make use of this very aspect to show a much less rigid Yui when she is not busy enforcing the rules.
In To LOVE-Ru Darkness, Yui remains one of the many young women whose relationship with Rito continues to evolve, whilst the story simultaneously gives more prominence to Momo, Golden Darkness and the new storylines involving the alien characters.
This Trio-Try-iT figurine plays precisely on the contrast that defines Yui: a girl who is usually strict and disciplined, depicted here in a more summery and relaxed outfit, whilst retaining her characteristic reserved demeanour.
